Women ARE funny!!

To hear our class talk about the comedy world and how both men and women are in it these days made me wonder if my own generation has a problem with women paving their way into a man's world. Personality, the whole "men can only be funny" thing is getting tired and boring. It something we have always had and there was no diversity and the same jokes would be told. There is nothing new at all.
The new era of women in comedy has brought laughter to a whole new level! And yes, it was because of women!! Don't, get me wrong Kevin Hart is one of my favorite comedians, but I think its because he uses his comedy with real world experiences, he doesn't have to try and be funny. There are women out there like that too. Bridesmaids is my all time favorite comedy! I was crying in the theater because I was laughing so hard and it was because of the women in the movie! Not one guy made me laugh! It was relatable, and the actors weren't trying to be funny! It was natural for them. Melissa McCarthy is now my favorite female comedian because of that movie. I can watch her in anything now because I know it is going to make me laugh. It is because of her persona that makes her successful! She already has a great personality and when you add in goofiness, you have a winner!
Think women actually have an advantage over men when it comes to comedy because women are able to poke fun at more situations than males. We (women) go through so much more than men do when it comes to our personal life that men don't even know about (nor do they want to know about). That gives us our competitive edge because most men never want to talk about what women want to talk about, like it is a crime or something.
Women are funny! And there will be more to come! So sit back, relax and LAUGH!! It won't kill you!

The Only Control We Have Is In Ourselves

I really do not think that we have any control on what the media produces about the war, soldiers, and Iraq. I feel like no matter what medium it is coming out of it is always going to be bias. It is just in our nature to be bias. There is always going to be either someone telling someone what to write about or talk about or someone is just going to have his or her own opinion. Either way it is bias.

Also I agree with what the professor had to say about you can't even trust most of the bloggers anymore because you never know who they really are! And that is scary and creepy to me because it's almost like you can't trust a lot of the stuff online because you never know who is putting it up and if it's real or not. It is crazy how you can manipulate images and everything nowadays, it's pretty much to the point that you can't anyone or anything! I do however, go to the news for information and facts, but I even take those with a grain of salt because there is so many things that the government and the media hides from us on a daily basis.

A lot of what was said in class about how we are the ones that consume the junk on TV is 100% true. No reality TV is worth being on TV, what is that doing for us? What is it doing for our country? Not a damn thing. So, I think we will be fine without it. It is 100% our fault why this bull crap still is on TV everywhere we look, it's because WE WATCH IT. So the only control we DO have is controlling what we watch! If you are tired of seeing it then don't watch it, it is as simple as that. As far as the media and news goes we have no control over what is going to be reported. That is what feeds into the civil solider is that those type of people feed into the stuff they see on social media and TV and then think they have the power. No... sorry you don't.

Does that mean Manly Men Have to be Useless?

I can't help but wonder that when the media refers to manly men they refer to strong (but lazy), handsome men that don't share feelings, aren't sensitive and care more about sports and beer then their wives. Is that really what we consider a "manly man" to be? In the TV clip that we watched in class, it was almost like it wasn't manly of him to drive the minivan or talk to his kids or help around the house, and if you noticed a lot of the clips were him just sitting on the couch. If that is what you consider as a man thennnnnn I guess I don't want one.

I was raised to believe that a husband and a wife are "one "and that they should help out each other in every situation. If my mom needed help toting the kids around my dad wouldn't hesitate to help even if it meant driving a minivan, my dad always wanted to talk to me and still does to this day. He does things like wash the dishes, clean the bathroom, and vacuum WITHOUT my mom having to ask him too, and NO he is not a stay at home dad, he still works to provide for our family. Why is that so hard for people to grasp that a REAL manly man is a man that respects women and cherishes them. They should provide and protect, and should have no problem with having an imaginary tea party with your daughter either. I really wish this world would wake up and realize that sports and beer is not the only thing a man should care about.
