Video Games

Throughout the lecture on Tuesday i kept wondering how penetrating the field of video games can help our health mentally and physically. I feel as if the research into what people like about video games is too far into killings, sports, and quest mode portions of the study. I feel like it would be very difficult to establish a plan that would curve video games toward a healthy lifestyle when the current one is making so much profit.
When we think of the most popular video games we think of Halo and most recently Call of Duty. These games are specifically addressing the war aspect of video games. I feel there is no way to curve this attitude mentally because obviously there is killing involved. However it may be possible to establish some physical health by using a format similar to the Wii, Konect, or Playstation Move.

So how can we make games that help mental health? Honestly i dont see a way simply due to the fact that games that help your brain don't seem to sell well. For instance I keep seeing this commercial for luminosity.com which is supposed to be an online game website where there is a multitude of games that train your brain. I only find this working for kids in grade school who are bored in a study hall class and can't be on their phones so they could result to start playing games on this website and it not be frowned upon.

Overall i find that video games aren't the answer to getting through to young people. I feel the answer lies more within TV programming and parenting.
