Our foor

The movie Food Inc. really opened my eyes to how our food is processed and made. I never knew how much torture those animals had to go through just so big corporations can make a profit. When watching the movie, I felt like human beings had the power and technology to play God. Making chickens mature faster than normal and making them have bigger breasts seemed unethical to me. I realize that sometimes you have to get your hands dirty to make ends meet but this is going way out of bounds. We as Americans are completely in the dark about what big corporations are doing to our food. They are cutting every corner possible to make more money. I knew that our food industry was not the best but I was not prepared for what I saw. Our society thinks stem cell research and cloning are inhumane but nobody even questions the methods being used to obtain our food. I am really surprised that more people don't get food poisoning with all the unsanitary conditions that our food has to go through when being made. The food that most animals eat at these farms has added preservatives in it to make them grow faster, these preservatives can be really unhealthy for the consumers. It can lead to diabetes and cause obesity but at the same time it makes the food super cheap. Families that are struggling financially have no choice but to eat this cheap unhealthy food. Our food industry is a prime example of why some things should not be mass-produced.
