In today’s culture we have to be entertained
all the time. If we aren’t on our
computers, we are on our phones, watching tv, playing with our i(insert device
here), or listening to music. If we ever
came across someone sitting in complete silence, just sitting there, we would
not know what to do. We most likely
would pull our phones out and answer a fake text. With electronics constantly being updated,
kids grow up with a phone in one hand and an electronic game in the other. We cannot go out to dinner without checking
our phone or if anyone “liked” our picture yet.
I am not the only one to realize
this trend; the media knows that’s how to get through to people. We all have come so accustomed to believing
anything we read on the internet. News
channels report the news, but we just believe what they are saying without even
questioning if the facts are true. It
seems like a lot of the news is bias to the reporter and doesn’t get the whole
story. This can be dangerous when it
comes to things like reporting the war.
It even has its own name now: “Militainment”. When important news has become a spectacle
for the “audience”, instead of news about our life. When it comes down to it, today’s society
just wants to be entertained. No one
wants to be bored, but yet we constantly are….no matter how many things there
are for us to do.
