To the people who think that video games can solve real-world problems...
NO.
Some of the people I know who play video games don't even know what the
real-world is. They live their lives to play video games. You got
kicked out of school, you lost your job, and now you live at home with your mom
and spend your time playing video games. Please explain to me how you're
going to solve ANY problem.
I love video games and I'm actually quite good at them, but I think that
someone who says that video games can be used to solve real-world problems, is
using that as an excuse to excessively play video games.
I can understand why someone would say that video games has given them
valuable traits that they can use in the real world, but I don't buy
it. You gain valuable traits by helping REAL people in REAL
situations.
You don't need video games to solve real-world problems. Video games
haven't been around until recently, and I feel like they do more harm than good.
To the people who play excessively, get a life. Do something valuable
that is going to be worthwhile in the real world, not in your virtual fantasy
life.
I don’t mean to sound harsh, but video games are not meant to be a way of
life. Video games are fun and I enjoy
playing them, but you have to find that balance and draw that line. You can’t play video games excessively and
pretend that you’re doing it so you can save the world, you actually have to
get off your couch and go out into the real world!
