Masculine women

The class discussion on women and sports I felt was one sided. I agree that it was embarrassing, inappropriate, and disrespectful towards Semenya. But the argument of "why don't men get accused of different sex if they do too good?" is absurd. Everyone knows that men have been superior in most physical performances. It's not disrespectful or sexist, it is fact. To compare these types of accusations is redundant. In a way men are criticized if they do perform differently. They are checked previously for enhancement drugs and other potential enhancements. If men are horrible at a sport, they aren't criticized by the public because they are not good enough to make it to the public arena. I play sports and kids that play who are not good are criticized in a way that does take shots at women. When a man is bad at a sport some call them, "wimps" or "pussies." Even in the movie The Sandlot they say, "you play ball like a girl" and it is the biggest put down ever to them. Not because women are bad at sports, just because it is incomparable. If you look at the Olympics, most times the worst male competitor is still better than the best women competitor. That is not a shot at women competitors, it is the truth. I pole vaulted in high school. At meets in high school I jumped 13'6" and got 4th place in sectionals and didn't even place (top 10) in regionals. A girl in the same meets jumped 10'6" and got first in both in sectionals and regionals and went to state. The girl that won state jumped 13'6". My point is that there is no possible way to compare the two. They are virtually two different sports; that is why they are separated.
