1. I am not as cool as I thought
Before this class, I thought I was a pretty cool cat. I was original and fun. This class
taught me that there is no such thing as cool...and if there was such a
thing...I was not it. But now I have
accepted this, and feel less obligated to be cool on a regular basis.
2. I am not the only one who checks my fake text message
I walk past someone, they look at me...I look at my phone. A normal day
for me. Avoid awkwardness at all costs, which in the end creates a
different (but acceptable) awkwardness.
This class taught me that it’s totally ok to look up and smile at people…even
if they are looking at their phone.
3. Superheroes are more acceptable than princesses
Princess culture is seen as something
that all girls go through but will make us become materialistic brats. However,
superheroes are for boys and it will allow them to grow up to fight for justice
and be "manly". In the end, it
is just a phase, and depending on how your parents raised you is how the
princess/superhero culture affects you.
4. Today's society teaches us how to put up a front instead
of being ourselves
We are taught from a young age that we have to look at certain way or act a certain
way. Instead of being ourselves we have to fit into this stereotype to be
accepted in society. Along with
not caring about being cool, this class taught me that it’s more interesting to
be yourself.
5. Real life is hard...use a virtual life to make it
bearable
Life is out of our control most of the
time. An easy way to cope with this is to be a part of the virtual
community. Whether this be facebook, twitter, and instagram, or gaming,
these all help us escape that hard life. Bsupop taught me that it is ok
to use these as outlets….as long as you are still involved with the real
world. Sometimes you just gotta push
through the tough times by editing a picture of yourself to share with the
world.
Thanks #Bsupop for helping me figure out life...
