Although we discussed this last week, the arguments about
Caster were just astonishing. I think it is completely true when people express
these kinds of feelings towards women and never towards men. Women have always received
the bad end when it comes to media, and that is the media portraying them and
us as citizens keep agreeing with it or at least putting up with it. The reason
they tested her was because of how bad she blew the competition out of the
water. If she hadn’t won so dramatically it wouldn’t have ever been that big of
a deal. The media will find what ever they can to scrutinize the top athletes.
Them making it public about her getting gender tested is ridiculous! They should
have never made that story because all it did was blow it out of the water and
piss some people off. The media doesn’t care about us; they just care about
what makes the best story and what will make the most money. LeBron James was scrutinized
for leaving Cleveland and having a show called “The Decision” in order to tell
the country where he was planning on playing next. He was ridiculed for that
and still is even though he just won a title after being with the team for only
a short time. The point is that the media will do whatever it can in order to
create confusion with the citizens, as long as that is the top story or makes
the most money then it will become the main focal point for weeks or months, or
maybe even years. Being a celebrity brings a tough life sometimes that forces
you to always think ahead of what everyone else would think about you.
